The Lagos Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC has vowed that results of the councillorship and chairmanship elections would be announced at the respective ward and local government collation centres.

LASIEC chairman, Justice Ayotunde Phillips, (Retd) made the declaration at a stakeholders’ meeting yesterday as a way of assuring critics that the results would not be centrally announced as a way of ensuring transparency in the process.

“The commission will however, be monitoring developments at the various Collation Centres and other locations in the State through reports sent to the Election Support Centre at the headquarters by the field officers of the commission.”

Meanwhile, the Commission has continued the deployment of non-sensitive materials to the Electoral Officers in the 57 Local Governments/ Local Council Development Areas of the State in preparation for the elections
