A leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, and few other people were reportedly stabbed on Tuesday during the flag off rally of the All Progressives Congress campaign in Lagos.

The rally, which held at the Sky Power Ground, Oba Akinjobi Road, Ikeja, was said to have started peacefully until 2:45 pm when the state governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, was delivering his speech, as some rampaging thugs believed to be from opposing camps of National Union Road Transport Worker (NURTW) were seen freely wielding dangerous weapons, including guns, knives, cutlasses and charms started attacking one another.

The campaign was however cut short, as the party governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, could not address the crowd. He was reported to have rushed the vote of thanks and dispersed the rally.

It was gathered that Police officers engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle, as people ran helter-skelter. In the melee, many people were injured.

Journalists who were around to cover the event were also reported to have been attacked in the process.

MC Oluomo was reportedly to be among the injured victims.

Meanwhile, MC Oluomo and others affected in the pandemonium were said to have been carried to the hospital as at the time of filing this report.
