Hilda Dokubo, the Labour Party chairperson in Rivers State, who has been battling allegations of misconduct and inappropriate acts has allegedly been suspended by the executives of Asari Toru Local Government Area (LGA).

In a letter signed by the LGA’s ward officials on July 15, Dokubo was asked to step down from her role or position as the chairperson of Asari Toru LGA.

This development is followed an emergency meeting of the party’s ward executive committee of the Asari Toru LGA leaders which reportedly approved the suspension on July 18.

According to reports, the basis for the suspension includes accusations of financial misconduct, abuse of office, and breach of party regulations.

The party executives however reaffirmed their dedication to upholding the Labour Party’s moral principles and integrity.

In a letter which was signed by Ward Chairman Ajalamonia Ibama, Secretary Lole Amacheer, Treasurer Emmanuel Ibamathe, Women’s Leader Osaki Dieypiriye, and Publicity Secretary Osaki Dokubo, the body reiterated its commitment to discipline and good conduct.
