  • AbdulRazaq Commends Peaceful Conduct

By Afolabi Samuel Odunayo

Residents of Kwara State have resumed their daily activities on Friday, following a day of partial closures due to concerns over potential protests.

According to observers, shops and offices went fully operational on August 2, marking a swift return to normalcy.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaiye, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq lauded the community’s commitment to harmony.

The governor said residents, particularly the youth, deserved praises for maintaining peace and avoiding unrest.

“I am again proud of every Kwaran today,” AbdulRazaq said.

He added: “The peace in the state is a true reflection of who we are, and we should continue along that path. This is our state, the only one we have; we should not do anything that may bring violence, hurt one another, or lead to loss of lives and properties. We do not need it.”

He further acknowledged the collective wisdom of the people for choosing positive engagement and safety. “I wholeheartedly acknowledge the wisdom of our people, old and young, who have chosen the viable option of positive engagement, safety, peace, and harmony. God bless you all,” he added.
