Despite repeated warnings against electoral infractions, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC has arrested 20 Persons for alleged voting buying in the ongoing Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections in llorin, Kwara State.

Parading the suspects, the Zonal Head of the EFCC in llorin, Michael Nzekwu, said the suspects were caught in different areas in Ilorin West, South and Omuarun.

The Commission’s Zonal head said the suspects were caught being in possession of huge sums of money, PoS machines, different sophisticated telephone handsets and account details of beneficiaries.

Nzekwu who assured the general public that the suspects would be charged to court for prosecution, said the commission’s National Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa had repeatedly warned against vote buying as a criminal offence.

The Zonal Head, however, urged Voters in the state to shun vote buying in the ongoing governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.
