President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and former President of the Senate Senator Bukola Saraki have sent condolences to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the families of its personnel who died in the fatal air crash Sunday morning involving the Beechcraft KingAir B350i plane.

Minutes after the crash, a picture of the Aircraft’s pilot, Flight Lieutenant Gadzama who skillfully manoeuvred the plane away from residential buildings went viral on the internet as Nigerians hailed his heroic efforts in the face of death.

Sending his condolences, Bashir tweeted, “The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the unfortunate crash of its Beechcraft KingAir B350i Aircraft while returning to Abuja Airport after developing an engine failure en-route Minna. Sadly, all seven personnel on board died in the crash. May their souls Rest In Peace.

He tweeted further: “Fallen heroes! May Almighty God comfort their families, friends and colleagues.”

On his part, Former Vice President Abubakar prayed for the families of who died on board the ill-fated craft.

“I have just learnt of the crash of a military aircraft near Abuja. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those onboard the ill-fated flight.” Atiku tweeted

Saraki, on his official twitter handle @bukolasaraki, said: “At this time, my prayers are with the Nigerian Air Force and the families and friends of the military personnel involved in today’s Beechcraft KingAir B350i plane crash.

“I pray for strength for the families.”

The New Diplomat had reported seven personnel of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) died in the plane crash that occurred on Sunday morning in Abuja.
