The immediate past Minister of State for Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, on Tuesday, filed an appeal against the ruling of the Federal High Court judge, Hon. Justice J.K Omotosho, dismissing his suit which sought to compel law-enforcement agencies to investigate the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar over his alledged involvement in using Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) to commit financial fraud.

Keyamo in a statement issued by his Assitant Head of Chambers, John Aineto Esq, said “We have raised an initial four grounds of appeal with a possibility of raising additional grounds of appeal. “

According to Aineto, “Mr. Keyamo has a rich history of taking it upon himself to challenge unconstitutionality, corruption and the breach of the rule of law by public officials. Like ALL lawyers from time immemorial, he has won some, lost some and some are still pending in court. That is what the struggle is all about. And that is THE SAME SITUATION with our legal icons of blessed memories.

“This case is not an exception. The battle will be taken all the way to the apex court. Mr. Keyamo is not about to back down now,” he added.

It would be recalled that Atiku’s aide yesterday mocked Keyamo over the Fedral High Court order sqashing his suit to compel law-enforcement agencies to probe his principal over the SPV claims made by former aide, Michael Achimugu.

Mr. Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku described the human rights lawyer as a serial loser and advised him to throw his law degree certificate into the trash bin, because his inability to win cases was becoming embarrassing.

Shaibu noted that Justice James Omotosho dismissed Keyamo’s suit as incompetent and awarded a N10m fine against him.

“Keyamo’s incompetence has been confirmed by Justice Omotosho. One wonders how he was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate. Despite several clarifications that the allegations levelled against Atiku were trumped up, Keyamo refused to listen to reason.

“Rather than act like a refined lawyer as expected of a senior advocate, he decided to act like a political jobber. Now, he has been disgraced before the entire world. This was a man who served under the legendary, Chief Gani Fwehinmi? What a shame.”

Recall also that Achimugu released a purported audio conversation with the former Vice President where he (Atiku) admitted that he created organisations including Marine Float, through which he embezzled Nigeria’s money during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.
