Slightly 24 hours after the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, publicly rubbished his predecessor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for failing to win the presidential election after jumping political parties, the Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Hashimu Dungurawa,Thursday, defined the previous governor a serial loser.

It would be recalled that on Wednesday, Ganduje, while receiving returnees from the NNPP at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, recounted the number of political parties Kwankwaso has been in with the sole purpose of securing parties’ ticket to contest for the presidential election.

Ganduje in his attack on Kwankwaso labelled his former master an expert failure.

He said instead of Kwankwaso staying in APC, however because of his ambition, he decided to leave the party after failing to secure the presidential ticket he moved and returned to the PDP. He could not live there as he did not pick up the ticket.

“He still went on his own to contest the presidential poll and was defeated twice. He is a professional contestant for presidential elections and would remain a professional failure. He loves himself so much. I am happy you have dumped the red cap. It is a very sensible action you have taken,” Ganduje was quoted saying.

But, Dungurawa, in response to Ganduje’s vitriolic assault on Kwankwaso, the NNPP presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections said the immediate past governor of Kano State performed woefully in the last election.

Dungurawa questioned Ganduje’s audacity to speak sick of how his former master who through his assistance revived his political career and received the governorship election in 2015.

He said, “If Ganduje has forgotten, he is talking to his Political Master, who he served as deputy governor for eight years and the same Kwankwaso made him representative of Lake Chad and also his Personal Secretary when he was Minister of Defense.

“The same Kwankwaso, after ensuring that he kept Ganduje closely helping him to survive political life, ensured that in 2015 he personally, despite all odds, made him governor in Kano.”

“It will amount to political betrayal for Ganduje to now have the guts to speak ill of Kwankwaso, because there has been a time when even Ganduje, in tears, said that he has nothing to repay Kwankwaso’s goodwill.”

The Kano NNPP Chairman said Ganduje, parading himself because the chairman of the party didn’t supply Kano nation throughout the presidential election and the governorship election.

He added that Ganduje’s son lost his constituency – Rimingado, Dawakin-Tofa and Tofa to the NNPP.

“What happened in the recent elections, when he clearly lost in his hometown, Ganduje, and where he couldn’t even win his own polling unit.

“If not Ganduje, who quickly forgets recent realities, just this 2023, he cannot win Kano despite the fact that Kwankwaso came in with a new brand party.

“And not only his governorship candidate, even his own son he made to contest the House of Representatives was defeated hands down by Kwankwaso. So what is he talking about?”

Dungurawa boasted that the recent judgment given by the election tribunal which Ganduje is counting on can be overturned.

“The child’s play they did in the Elections Tribunal is giving him hopes to open his mouth anyhow; it will soon be overturned at the Appeal Court.

“Just because Ganduje managed his ways to become the National Chairman of APC, which would soon be taking over, he thinks Kwankwaso is his mate. Well time will surely show who is who,” he said.
