DHQ Never Mentioned Any Coup Attempt

1. The attention of the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has been drawn to a false and misleading report by an online publication insinuating that the cancellation of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary was linked to an alleged attempted military coup. The report also made spurious references to the recent DHQ press release announcing the arrest…

In a dramatic move, Juventus are currently in talks to sign Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Italian champions have offered Atletico a €10 million loan fee with a €45 million as an option to buy him  at the end of the loan.

Atletico are said to be deeply considering the move as they are close to a deal that will see Luis Suares join them for  a free transfer from Barcelona.

Recall that when Morata moved to the Premier League to join Chelsea, very impressive accomplishments  were expected of him having impressed many with spectacular performance at Real Madrid in the 2016/17 campaign.

However, soccer analysts believe  it is  quite  fair to say that the move didn’t work out as projected  as the Spaniard totalled just 24 goals in his 72 matches in all competitions.

His move back to Spain is considered to have got his career back on track, but a record of 22 goals in 62 games is not too dissimilar to what he achieved in England, analysts further opined.

In the reckoning of some, it is being said that the leadership  hierarchy of  Atletico may have  believed  that they can get more out of ageing Luis Suarez than they can from Morata to consider letting the striker return to Juventus, where he spent two seasons earlier in his career.

The move however has sparked diverse  reactions on Twitter making this report one of the top trends on social media most especially on Twitter.

Here are  some twitter comments:

In just over six years, Alvaro Morata has been signed by Juventus, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid. In that time he’s scored fewer than 50 league goals. Lovely work if you can get it.@danielstory85

I never understand the whole Morata thing. A striker that has literally never been prolific.@270783

If he moves this summer to Juve, Morata has made FIVE transfers since 2014 totalling €245 mill in transfer fees. Yes, Morata. How does he keep doing it?@Hayles_101

Even tho Morata since 2017 has failed to score 20 goals in a season, he has been sold to 3 big teams. And each transfers worth €55M that’s crazy tbh https://t.co/HpE3l5gd1A@cfcbana

Atletico Madrid are open the let Morata leave on loan with the right of redemption. It would be a very expensive loan of 10mln€ and a right of redemption of 45mln€.

Real Madrid did the same with Morata as they’re now doing with Reguilón
