Sadiq Daba, an iconic broadcaster and veteran Nollywood actor is dead.

 

He reportedly died late Wednesday after a protracted illness due to leukaemia and prostate cancer.

Daba, began his career as an actor in 1970, starring in the movie, ‘Cockcrow at Dawn’. Since his debut, he went on to feature in many movies among which are, October 1, where he played the role of ‘Inspector Waziri’; ‘Citation’, which was the last movie he featured in, and several other movies.

In 2015, Daba won the Best Actor at the Africa Movie Academy Award, for his role in October 1 movie.

Recall that Daba announced his diagnosis of Leukemia and prostate cancer in 2017. Following the announcement, the veteran actor received the support of well-meaning Nigerians.
