The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Kabiru Masari as his running mate for the 2023 elections.

A chieftain of the party Kabiru Faskari made this disclosure during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, monitored by The New Diplomat, Friday.

The APC chieftain, however kept mum on whether Masari was chosen as a place holder for the Vice-Presidential candidate slot.

Reports had emerged that Tinubu chose Masari who is said to be a kinsman of President Muhammadu Buhari from Katsina State, as ‘place holder’ for the APC VP slot.

It was reported that the APC as well as Tinubu couldn’t reach a logical conclusion on the individual to fill the slot of the Vice-Presidential candidate of the party, as such agreed to choose Masari as a ‘Place holder’ instead of a vice-presidential candidate to meet the statutory requirement and as well beat today’s deadline by INEC for submission of presidential candidates and vice-presidential candidates running for the 2023 general elections.
