Terror gripped Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State on Monday evening as gunmen abducted a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, 10 children, and several others.

According to Sahara Reporters, an online newspaper, the attack occurred around 6pm on November 24, 2025, when 20 to 30 armed bandits stormed the town, firing sporadically and driving a large herd of cattle through the streets. An elderly woman was hit by a stray bullet during the assault.

A community leader confirmed that 11 people were abducted, including seven members of the same family. The victims include: Talatu Kabiru, Magaji, Kande, Hadiza, Mariam, Saima, Habibat, Fatima Yusufu, Sarah Sunday (pregnant), Lami Fidelis (nursing mother), and Haja Na Allah.

Eyewitnesses described the chaos, noting that the attackers left multiple bullet holes across homes. Expended AK-47 shells were recovered after the gunmen fled.

Isapa lies near Eruku, another Ekiti LGA town recently targeted by bandits. In that incident, terrorists stormed a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) meeting, killing three worshippers and abducting several others, including the pastor.

“The gunmen came in suddenly and started shooting. Three people were killed instantly,” a source said. “They gathered others at gunpoint and marched them into the bush. The exact number taken is still unknown.”

Witnesses say residents remain terrified as authorities continue investigations and search operations.
