Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, Saturday, confirmed the release of the 27 students, kidnapped by bandits from Government Science secondary school, Kagara on 17 February.

The Governor said the state has received the released abductees.

The New Diplomat had reported that the students regained their freedom alongside 15 others, including staff of the school kidnapped by bandits ten days ago.

Gov Bello in a tweet on his verified handle said, “The Abducted Students, Staff and Relatives of Government Science Collage Kagara have regained their freedom and have been received by the Niger State Government”
