Former Senator and businessman, Buruji Kashamu is dead.

Kashamu who was part of the 8th Senate and represented Ogun East Senatorial District died of the Covid-19 disease, Saturday.

The 62 year-old passed away at the First Cardiology Consultant Hospital in Lagos while undergoing treatment for the dreaded disease, his ally and former colleague, Senator Ben Murray Bruce confirmed in a tweet, Saturday evening.buruji kashamu

Bruce wrote: “I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss.”

Senator Kashamu was the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government.
