The Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, on Monday held an emergency meeting with army commanders and other top hierarchy in the Nigerian army.

The purpose of the meeting, it was gathered, is not unconnected with recent developments of insecurity in the country.

The meeting is being held at the Army Headquarters in Abuja and was said to have commenced at 10.20am.

Present at the all important meeting are the General Officers Commanding of all the divisions of the Nigerian Army, commanders of the various army operations, unit commanders, commander, Guards Brigade, and other top officers.

Recall that the country in the last few days was enmeshed in violence as hoodlums attacked some government and private properties setting them ablaze.

Shopping malls, small stores were looted by hoodlums.

Lagos State was the epicenter of such wanton destruction of such properties as police station were razed.
