Operatives of the Department of the State Service (DSS) have arrested the National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero.

It was gathered that the NLC boss was arrested in the early hours of Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Ajaero was said to have been arrested while he was about to board a flight to attend the Trade Union Congress conference in London, which begins on Monday.

His arrest comes after he was summoned and interrogated by the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) over allegations bordering on terrorism financing.

It would be recalled that the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), an arm of the NPF, on August 29, 2024, had quizzed the NLC boss on alleged terrorism and felony allegations.
