Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said that it is too early to start commenting on 2023 presidential polls, stressing that he won’t want to be drawn into that debate now.
Recall that there have been speculations that Jonathan might be eyeing the possibility of running again in 2023 for the presidency if the atmosphere is right.

But the former president who left office in 2015 after losing power in a keenly contested presidential election to the current president, Muhmmadu Buhari has been rumoured to be nursing a political ambition.
However, in a brief chat with journalists on after attending an event organised by the Commonwealth Community Choir in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Jonathan said it is too early to make comments about whether he has ambition to contest or not in 2023.
He said, “It is too early to talk about that,” stressing that he would rather focus on talking about the state on insecurity in the country.
He spoke about the issue of insecurity in the country and called for support for the Federal Government and the security agencies to enable them overcome the current security challenges.
Former president Jonathan noted that Nigeria was not the only country affected by insecurity, adding that he had his challenges to deal with as well when he was in office.
Jonathan who also threw light on the political crisis in Mali, explained that the situation has been brought under control following the intervention of ECOWAS.
