Governor Okowa of Delta State has reminded the people of Sapele Local Government Area that he has fulfilled all the promises he made to them during his electioneering campaign in 2015.

Governor Okowa who stated this while addressing a mammoth crowd of PDP faithful who converged in Sapele stadium in continuation of the party’s state-wide campaign, listed the promises to include the dualization of Sapele-Amukpe roundabout road, completion of Sapele modern market and the renovation of Sapele Technical College.

Other projects which form part of the governor’s promises which he fulfilled, according to him, were drainages and internal roads, Elume road, adding that by 2023 every road in Sapele will wear a new look.

On why PDP should campaign in spite of the mammoth supporters across the state, Gov. Okowa said campaign was necessary because “not everybody who registered to vote is a politician that belong to a party. There are those who have voters card but do not belong to any party. And these are the people we should campaign to convince to come out and cast their votes because we need their votes to win.”

He urged the party faithful to go from door to door to sell PDP programme, adding that “this time around we want to beat the opposition with a big gap so that the cannot talk after.”

Speaking earlier, the Director-General of the PDP Campaign Organization, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, likened Okowa to a biblical prophet, adding anybody who believes in God should believe Okowa.

“In this race we are already seeing victory.  Believe in God and believe in His prophet. In this case, Okowa is our prophet. He has said we will win. The bible said if you believe in God and you believe in his prophet, it shall be well with you”, he said.

Earlier, while fielding questions from newsmen, the chairman of Publicity Committee of the PDP, Hon. Dr. Tonye Timi, said that, “Delta State is PDP and PDP is Delta State. For the first time in Delta State, there is no community, there is no local government where you don’t have a project that is completed or ongoing.

“There is no community where you don’t have a boy or girl benefitting from the government empowerment programme.”

Others who spoke at the ceremony include Prof Oyovbaire, Deputy governor, Barr Kingsley Otuaro, the state party chairman, Barr Kingsley Esiso, among others.
