On the heels of alleged threat by a section of the country to Islamize Nigeria, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has vowed that no part of Igbo land will be islamised in his life time.

He said this while addressing a large crowd when he visited Nri, described as the ancestral home of Igbos in Anambra State. He said the alleged plot to islamise Nigeria was real but nobody would be able to achieve such “evil agenda” in his life time.

Kanu said, “The Islamisation plot is real but they won’t succeed in my life time. No, never; not when I am alive.

“The struggle for Biafra which I proudly lead is not a secessionist aspiration of NdiIgbo only as some erroneously think.

“Biafra is not just a living agitation but a fight for the survival of Christians in Nigeria against the entrenched threats of radical Islamic fundamentalists and their political collaborators within and outside Nigeria.”

Kanu’s warning is coming at a time when the General Overseer of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo had alleged that “Islamists are bent on islamising Nigeria.”
