Panic has escalated in Anambra State after the decomposing body of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly was found on Thursday.

Azuka had been reported missing since last December.
It was gathered that the body of the lawmaker was found at the 2nd Niger Bridge by a combined security team, who have been in search of him since he went missing.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, has also confirmed the development.

Ikenga also stated that operations were ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspects involved.

He said: “Yes, our operatives are currently at the scene. As soon as I get more details, I will keep you updated.”

It would be recalled that a lawmaker representing Onitsha I North constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen on December 24, 2024.

He was reportedly abducted while returning home along Ugwunaobankpa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha, Anambra state.
