A report by Dataphyte, a media research and Data analytics organization, has shown that 314 persons were killed in Nigeria between the period of April 18th and April 29th, 2021. The report added that 83 persons were abducted within the period.

According to the report, 244 persons were killed by the various militant groups terrorising the country in the first week under review with another 70 fatalities in second week.

Further breakdown showed that Zamfara State recorded the highest number of fatalities in Nigeria, with about 163 deaths.

Benue State recorded the second highest number of deaths with about 26 fatalities.

The report also indicated that Oyo State recorded the highest number of people abducted with 29 cases of abduction.

Scores of abductions have been reported in Oyo State with Fulani Herdsmen allegedly behind them.

Kaduna State recorded the second highest cases of abduction, in the period under review with about 27 cases.

About 20 students of the Greenfield University located at Kasarami village, off Kaduna-Abuja Road in Chikun Local Government Area of the Kaduna State were abducted by armed bandits on April 20. However, three of the abducted students, and later another two, were found dead on April 23.The kidnap came about a month after some 39 students and staff of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in the same Kaduna were abducted by bandits.

On April 21, armed bandits attacked the Magami Village in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State killing about 40 persons.
