The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), has stated why the proposed political party, All Democratic Alliance, ADA, has not been registered.

The electoral commission declared that ADA can’t be registered at the moment because it is yet to meet requirement.

INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Informawtion and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, gave the explanation while speaking with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to Olumekun, there are several letters of intent before the commission but none has met requirements to proceed for formal registration application.

“The truth is that we have so many letters of intent presently and none of them is an application yet. They must first meet the criteria before submitting a letter of intent,” Olumekun said.

Recall that the news that proponents of coalition party have decided on ADA as the platform to pursue their goal of challenging President Bola Tinubu in 2027 hit the public space on Friday night.

Meanwhile, hours after the announcement, Atiku’s camp dismissed reports that the coalition has adopted ADA to launch their challenge of Tinubu’s re-election bid, saying journalists are adding to the emerging merger party’s challenge.
