The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo- Agege on Tuesday congratulated the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate in the 2019 Imo governorship election, Senator Hope Uzodinma on his victory at the Supreme Court.

The New Diplomat had earlier reported that Uzodinma’s mandate was given to him on Tuesday when a seven-man panel of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, unanimously declared him winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship election and the validly elected governor of the state.

Senator Ovie Omo- Agege while congratulating Uzodinma in a statement signed by him on Tuesday evening and made available to members of the press by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Yomi Odunuga, described the Supreme Court judgement as victory for democracy.

According to him, light will always prevail over darkness, no matter how long it takes and the Judiciary has shown that it remains the last hope of man.

Senator Omo-Agege who doubles as South-South APC Leader said, ”I join millions of Nigerians in congratulating you on your well-deserved electoral victory at the Supreme Court.

“Your victory and that of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) is a clear indication that no matter how long it takes, light will always prevail over darkness.

“By reclaiming Imo State, I am optimistic that our party, the APC, will clinch more states not only in the South East geopolitical zone but also in the South-South in the 2023 governorship elections”.
