By Afolabi Samuel Odunayo

The Tinubu-led administration has said that the recruitment exercise for the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and the Federal Fire Service (FFS) will be finalized by the end of September 2024.

This information was made known in a statement issued by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional Services, Fire and Immigration Board, Ja’afaru Ahmed, on Sunday in Abuja.

Ahmed stated that another recruitment process would commence in August.

“The board will commence the next phase of the recruitment exercise in August and conclude the exercise before the end of September,” Ahmed stated.

He said the federal government’s decision follows its inability to meet up with the much scheduled recruitment logistics of June 15, 2024.

The Secretary attributed the delay to a comprehensive nationwide personnel audit recently conducted across several services, including the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), NIS, FFS, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

He however assured that all shortlisted candidates would be notified of the upcoming phase via their provided telephone numbers and email addresses.
