The Federation based in Atlanta, GA will through it’s partners Sportflames Communications and GIS Sports distribute Covid-19 relief package to a total of 400 Non-League football players in the state on Thursday and Friday respectively.

Surulere Local Government Executive Chairman expressed his delight for this great initiative by NSF-USA while Head of Sports in the Council, Mr. Tajudeen Disu said the gesture was one of it’s kind as grassroots footballers were being considered for relief package in this very tough period globally.Covid-19 relief package

In his words: “I want to say a big thank you to this association and to everyone involved to make this project a reality, also for counting Surulere grassroots footballers worthy for this package, it’s indeed a sense of belonging we have giving them.

“My Chairman Hon. Ajide will be so glad receiving NSF – USA on Thursday in his office and appreciate them more, because he is also a very close friend to the Federation anytime he makes a visit to the United States.”

His colleague in Ikeja, Engr. Mojeed Balogun who’s a lover of grassroots sports said it was necessary to support the youths at this trying time.

He expressed his delight with the initiative by NSF-USA as it’s first of its kind by any group to the area council, as the Federation is giving youth players a sense of belonging.

Balogun craved for the Federation to continue with the good work as the Council was ready to render all the support needed in making sure the packages are distributed without hitches.

NSF-USA who annually celebrates Nigeria’s Independence in diaspora with a football tournament in the United States, could not hold one this year due to the novel Coronavirus outbreak, but rather channelled it resources to giving out relief package as a way of cushioning the effect of the Covid-19 crisis on players at the grassroot levels.

The distribution of the Covid-19 relief package on Thursday (15th, October) and Friday (16th, October) at the two Local Government councils will start at 11am prompt.
