Joyce Ijeoma, a Nigerian masseuse who set out to achieve a 72-hour body massage on different individuals collapsed on Tuesday while attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest massage.

Ijeoma had completed 50 out of the 72 hours when she collapsed at the venue in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

At the time of filing this report, Ijeoma was yet to return to the venue and had stopped the transmission of the live coverage.

The previous record was set in 2015 by Alastair Galpin in South Kalimantan, Indonesia who went on for 25 hours and 4 minutes.

Hilda Baci’s cook-a-thon had inspired a number of Nigerians to embark on the Guinness World Record Challenge after she was recognised for her 93-hour feat.

Another Chef from Ondo State, Adeola Adeyeye, on Friday, began a 150-hour cook-a-thon in an attempt to break Hilda Baci’s Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon of 93 hours and 11 minutes and scheduled to end on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

Baci who only recently got her plaque from the Guinness World Record had earlier been challenged by Adeparusi Damilola from Ekiti State.

Damilola cooked for 120 hours, but also admitted that she did not cook for the Guinness World Record.

Chef Dami had announced her decision to also cook for 150 hours but nothing has been heard since then.
