A prospective chairmanship aspirant for Uvwie Local Government Council on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Daniel Ighedo has applauded what he referred to as the superlative performance of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the past two years that he has governed the state.
Ighedo stated this while fielding questions from newsmen at the Sapele Stadium on the occasion of the PDP Delta Central Mega Rally held on Friday June 23, 2017. Ighedo whose congratulatory billboard covered nearly a third of the western section of the stadium, noted that Governor Okowa’s performance in just two years was unprecedented.
Said he: “What you are seeing today shows that PDP is on ground in Delta State. That is why you are seeing that everybody is trooping out to support the administration of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa because the man has brought a superlative and unprecedented performance and prosperity to us all and we are seeing it live and direct and that is why everybody is coming out en masse to support him and support the PDP.”
“My billboard says it all. I believe in the SMART agenda of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta State, the SMART agenda is on course, the SMART agenda is real and that is why I stand with the party, I believe in the party.”
Ighedo testified that the government of Dr. Okowa has impacted positively on Uvwie Local Government, stressing that before now, Uvwie has been wearing the tag of a restive Local Government just as he affirmed that there has been peace in the Local Government area since Governor Okowa took the rein of power in the state.
“Before now, my local government has been tagged a restive local government. But since the coming of Governor Okowa we have recorded tremendous peace in the place. There is no trouble in my local government anymore. Everything is going on well with us because people are happy because of what he has done. He has brought so many infrastructure to us”, he said.
On his chances of making it as the next chairman of the Local Government Council, Ighedo said that “by the grace of God I stand to become the next Uvwie Local Government chairman.”
