The Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic has ordered the release of Ropo, wife of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, otherwise known as Igboho.

Igboho and his wife were both arraigned at the court on Thursday, four days after their arrest by Beninoise authorities inside the Cotonou airport.

Meanwhile, Igboho has been returned to the custody of the Beninoise government as the court hearing the extradition of activist adjourned the case to Friday (today).

According to reports, Igboho is also being tried for allegedly obtaining a Beninoise passport without being a citizen.

Many Yoruba-speaking supporters of the activist were seen at the court premises on Thursday afternoon.

The Cour D’Appel De Cotonou, in its ruling has adjourned the case involving the activist till Friday, July 23, 2021.
