Thousands of supporters on Saturday could not hide their excitement as Austin Utuk was among the first governorship aspirant to be successfully screened by the APC screening committee in Abuja.

Mr Utuk was screened among 145 other aspirants that purchased expression of interest and nomination forms to contest as governors in different states.

Some supporters including Eket senatorial APC aspirants, Martyns Udo-Inyang were physically excited as the process went on smoothly.

“The early and successful screening for Austin Utuk means a lot for me as an individual and Akwa Ibom. It shows the true person of Mr Utuk’s impeccable record and capacity to lead Akwa Ibom. We will be counted among the successful States in the world when Austin Utuk becomes our governor in 2023.” Ini Emma, another APC supporter said.

Mr Utuk had promised an Akwa Ibom State where the government will place an economic structure to benefit all irrespective of ethnic or political affiliation.

“I will run a government where young industrious youths would be given preferential treatment in the award of contracts and encouraged to excel in SMEs they have merits. I will encourage all-around talented resources to serve a peaceful and united Akwa Ibom.”

Austin Utuk has decades of successful corporate experience in insurance, management and administration. He is also UK and US-trained in his related profession for successful governance structures that stand the test of time.
