Men, women and youths in their hundreds have swelled the membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State in a grand declaration ceremony held at the country home of Olorogun Austin Uloho, an APC chieftain in Ughelli Township on Saturday September 9, 2017.

Prominent among the new members was Olorogun Ovouke Henry Oshasha, a renowned philanthropist and oil mogul, who thronged the venue along with hundreds of his followers to declare their loyalty and support for the APC.

In  his declaration speech, Olorogun Oshasha stated that he was overwhelmed by the achievement of President Muhammadu Buhari and the party in bringing development to the country as well as restoring sanity in the economy by way of the fight against corruption.

He  expressed appreciation for the infrastructural development being provided by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Ministry of Niger Delta, noting that with the massive ongoing construction of roads and drainages in Ughelli and its environs, the quality of life is gradually picking up.

 Said he: “The surge of eminent sons and daughters of Urhobo into our great party (APC) today is worth celebrating.  It shows that our people appreciate the infrastructural development element in the cardinal programme of President Muhammadu Buhari regime.  We can see massive road construction projects ongoing in Ughelli and its environs being executed by the NDDC.  We appreciate.

 “We are very sure that in the fullness of time, Ughelli, Delta State and Nigeria in general are going to overcome the current hardship.”

Oshasha  promised to work with his followers for the growth and progress of the party, noting that they would ensure the needed change is brought about in the area.

Responding , the chairman of the APC in the Local Government Area, Chief Ekure welcomed Olorogun Oshasha and his teeming followers, saying that their declaration for the party was timely.  He assured the new members that although they are new, they are entitled to all the privileges which older members of the party have.

Highpoint  of the ceremony was the formal presentation and declaration of Olorogun Oshasha and hundreds of his followers for the APC and the reception by the party chairman in Ughelli North, Chief Ekure.

Present  at the ceremony were Olorogun Austin Uloho who is the leader of the APC in Ughelli North Local Government Area, the State Vice chairman of the party, Olorogun Adelabu Bodjor, Dr. Otive Igbuzor, the Executive Director of Projects (NDDC), Engr. Sam Ajogbe, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Egbo, Olorogun Ogbarode Ogbon, among others.
