Pep Guardiola has revealed some of the techniques to employ to claim the Premier league title after he congratulated Manchester United on their Derby win.
Guardiola however went on to point out that Manchester City will remain in the driver’s seat to win the Premier League title.
City’s 21-game winning streak ended on a disappointing afternoon at Etihad when they missed the chance to extend their lead at the top with a sub-par performance in a 2-0 loss.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United’s players later stated the Blues are too far ahead to contemplate a catch and while Guardiola ruled nothing out, he emphasized the strength of the position they are in.
“Anything can happen in football. Anything can happen. We can win the next game and we can lose the next,” he said. “When people say that after so many wins in a row, Pep keeps saying the same thing, it’s because I know anything can happen.
“We have achieved an incredible amount. Today the news is that we lost so many congratulations to Man United for the win, but we are trying to win the Premier League and we need six or seven wins out of ten games. If you can The last ten games are coming, everything is getting shorter. Our opponents have to win all of their games and we have to lose four.”
Kevin De Bruyne admitted City had played into United hands early on and the loss meant Guardiola’s selection was being scrutinized for the first time in a while. However, the manager wouldn’t ponder whether it was a mistake not to introduce record player Sergio Aguero while insisting his players wouldn’t need post-mortem on their first loss in four months – it won’t be like any other game treated.
“Is the title all of them already?
“We have to recover, tomorrow I won’t speak to the team, the day after tomorrow I won’t speak to the team and on the day of the game I’ll tell the team how amazing they are because they played that way.” until the end, considering United are fantastic – no losses in a year show how strong they are.
“Now we have that lead in our hands. We come back with what we have to do, fresh legs on Wednesday and try to play another game.
“I’m not going to analyze this game because I think we’ve been perfect in the last 21 games. There are always problems when we win or lose, but I’m pretty sure about how we did after winning games “Let’s think about the next one. The way the game in Southampton is completely different from United and we will decide how we want to play and try to do it.”
