Spain triumphed in the Euro 2024 final, securing its record fourth European soccer championship with an 86th-minute goal from Mikel Oyarzabal to defeat England on Sunday.

The match, held in Berlin, saw intense competition.

Nico Williams initially put Spain ahead, but England equalized through Cole Palmer. The goal, which emerged unexpectedly, was the result of a well-coordinated effort involving Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham.

As the game seemed destined for extra time, Oyarzabal’s decisive strike sealed Spain’s victory, leaving England heartbroken once again.

“I couldn’t be happier. To see the fans, to see the players,” expressed Spain’s manager Luis de la Fuente. “For me, they are the best in the world and today I confirm that definition.”

Spain’s flawless performance at Euro 2024, winning all seven matches, marks one of the most dominant runs in the tournament’s history.

Recall that England had lost to Italy in the final of Euro 2020. The country has never won a European championship and its last major international tournament win was the 1966 World Cup.
