Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force(NPF) attached to Ogun State command have narrated how they rescued the abducted wife of Hakeem Odumosu, a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
Speaking on how the rescue was pulled off, the Ogun Police Command said its men strategically launched manhunt for the criminals and neutralized them .
The Command added that a huge sum of money already paid by the family of the victim was also recovered.
The police, however, did not disclose the amount earlier paid as ransom by the Odumosu family prior to the rescue of Mrs Odumosu
The New Diplomat had reported how Mrs Odumosu was kidnapped last Thursday when the abductors invaded her residence located at the Arepo area of Ogun State.
Meanwhile, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed that the victim was rescued unhurt in a chat with newsmen on Thursday(today).
“Police neutralised AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s wife Kidnappers, recovered ransom. The IGP has commended the Police Operatives and CP Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a good job.
“We are committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and our dear country,” Adejobi, an Assistant Commissioner of Police said.
