There is a deep sense of fear and anxiety in Plateau State following an explosion that rocked the city of Jos on Tuesday morning.

The explosion, which was described as a “powerful one” by eyewitnesses, was said to have disrupted the calm in the state, sending shockwaves rippling through nearby towns and villages, leaving residents reeling and uncertain.

According to the eyewitnesses, the blast occurred around 10:30 am near the densely populated Terminus market area.

Although the level of damage caused by the explosion is yet to be ascertained as of press time, eyewitnesses said several people were reportedly injured with several properties reportedly destroyed.

Emergency services, including the police, fire department, and ambulance teams, reportedly rushed to the scene to assist.
