Immediate past Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman reportedly collapsed after hearing news of his sack by President Muhammadu Buhari, Wednesday.

According to reports, Mamman is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital in Abuja.

The New Diplomat had on Wednesday reported that Mamman and his Agriculture and Rural Development counterpart, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, were sacked by the President. Buhari, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, stated that the decision was taken in a move to “identify and strengthen weak areas, close gaps, build cohesion and synergy in governance, manage the economy and improve the delivery of public good to Nigerians.”

Meanwhile, the sacked Minister, upon hearing the news reportedly collapsed and lost consciousness. According to reports, the news came as a rude shock to Mamman.

A source privy to the matter made this disclosure to the members of the press.

“He collapsed yesterday and was immediately hospitalised. He wasn’t expecting to be fired so soon,” the source reportedly said.

However, as of press time Mamman hasn’t reacted to the development as efforts to reach him proved abortive.
