Massive Explosions have wrecked a church said to be owned by the father of Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The New Diplomat’s checks reveal that hoodlums and militant youths totaling  about five mysteriously found their way into the  the church building, (Christian Universal Church International) situated at number 25 Azikiwe Street Mile, 3 Diobu, on Saturday night.

Having sneaked into the Church, the hoodlums allegedly proceeded to  detonate a massive explosive  object suspected to be a dynamite.

Given the intensity of the explosion, major  parts  of the church building were wrecked and destroyed by the explosions, which triggered tension and fears among residents close to the vicinity

However, as at the time of filing this report,  no group had claimed responsibility for the action.

It was gathered that the Police and other security agents including those from the Rivers state police command, Mopol 19 were believed to have cordoned off the areanad commence initial investigations.
