Real Madrid on Saturday night lifted the 2022 UEFA Champions League trophy for a record 14th time, thanks to Vinicius Junior’s 91st-minute goal.

Liverpool played with greater ball possessions and more shots at goal, yet Thibaut Courtois’ numerous saves made him the real galactico on a grandiose evening.

The champions league finals started 36 minutes behind schedule due to security reasons as report said thousands of fans were not cleared to enter the stadium on time.

It was a real clash of titans with No Salah and Sadio Mane coming early into the party with threatening strikes in the first half. Karim Benzema got a goal but was denied by the offside rule.

Real Madrid proved to be the real deal of the two teams who qualified for the UEFA Champions League final with local trophies decorating their necks.

Liverpool had won the Carabao and English FA Cup while Real Madrid won the La Liga before the finals in France.

Liverpool’s Klopp had dreamt of a quadruple this season but was cut short first by Manchester City, and now Madrid’s Ancelotti cancelled the talk of a triple trophy for the Reds in France.

It was agony for Liverpool but a great season for Madrid who has played the last four matches as underdogs but came out victorious with Europe’s most coveted football trophy.

It was quite a happy moment for Benzema at home in France while his English friends suffered a double tragedy.

It was reported that majority of Liverpool fans bought fake tickets that caused the build-up of tension at the stadium gates before kick-off. Police had to use pepper spray at some point to control the crowd leading to delays in starting the finals 36 minutes after the scheduled time.
