Supreme Court Justice, Chima Centus (CC) Nweze, has passed on after battling an undisclosed ailment for the past few years.

Nweze died on Sunday at the age of 64.

The Supreme Court is yet to confirm his death as of the time of filing this report.

Nweze was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court in 2014 by former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration after the approval and recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC).

He also served as a judge of the Court of Appeal, and earlier served as judge of the High Court of Enugu.

Nweze was the legal adviser to Okwesilieze Nwodo, a former governor of Enugu State.

The jurist, who was born on September 25, 1958, bagged all his degrees – from bachelors to Ph.D – from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).
