Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has said the worsening insecurity in the country has affected him psychologically, resulting to a drop in his sexual libido when engaging his wife in the ‘other room.’

Ortom who was addressing a press conference stated that his heart bleeds anytime he remember that there are people who have been displaced from their respective homes due to insecurity.

The governor, however, assured that his administration will ensure there is tight security in the state.

In his words, “I remain committed to leading my people, and also standing with the people. How do you want me?..even when I am on top of my wife and I remember the people who are in the IDP camps…”

Recently, Ortom and the presidency have been embroiled in a back-and-forth bickering over the disturbing spate of attacks by Fulani herdsmen in the country. While Ortom had consistently alleged certain elements are rabidly pushing an agenda to Fulanise Nigeria through an attack and displacement strategy, the presidency has described Ortom’s claim as ‘incendiary rhetoric.’
