Some armed men suspected to be bandits on Sunday abducted Asma’u Tafoki, younger sister to the Deputy Speaker of Katsina House of Assembly, Dalhatu Tafoki, few weeks to her wedding.

The incident was confirmed by Tafoki, who represents Faskari Constituency at the Assembly.

According to him, the armed men invaded his hometown in Faskari local government area Kastina State and abducted his sister who is planning to get married in the coming weeks.

The Deputy Speaker also confirmed that the abductors are yet to contact the family to make any ransom demand.

Speaking also, a source disclosed that the armed men stormed the community in a bid to abduct the father to the Deputy Speaker.

The source also confirmed that there was a firece gun battle between the gunmen and vigilante personnel of which led to the death of two bandits, with several others sustaining injuries on both sides.
