The three gladiators in the 2021/22 English Premier League — Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea all secured three points on match day 16.

The three front runners won their games by penalties to further extend what has been predicted as a mouthwatering challenge for the EPL title.

Man City who played first recorded a lone goal win over Wolves. Raheem Sterling scored from the spot to give his side all the three points, ensuring Man City stay top of the Premier League table for another week.

In a similar event, Liverpool won by a lone goal over Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa side at the Anfield stadium.

Mohamed Salah’s 65th minute penalty enabled his side to keep the pressure on Man City.

Chelsea on the other side defeated Leeds United in a thrilling 3-2 match at the Stamford bridge.

Though Leeds United were the first to find the back of the net through Rafinha, Chelsea came back through Mason Mount in the 42nd minute and extended their lead through Joringho who converted from the spot.

Leeds equalised late on in 83rd minute through Gelhardt, however, Chelsea hard enough time to seal all three points as Jorginho for the second time in the game converted from the spot.

With the results, Man City stay on top of the league with 38 points while Liverpool remains second with 37 points and Chelsea third with 36 points.
