Former Senator, Shehu Sani has revealed that a train he rode between Kaduna and Abuja on Thursday morning nearly derailed as he claimed bandits bombed the train.

Senator Sani said he alongside other passengers escaped the attack by whiskers

The former Senator added that the bandits were targeting the train driver, engine and tank and even damaged a section of the tracks as they opened fire on the train.

Sani noted that the bandits attacked the train in order to dispossess passengers of their cash and other valuable possessions.

The Senator who posted the video of the train on his Twitter handle, asserted that “Yesterday, terrorists attacked the Kaduna Abuja railway with an explosive & opened fire on the train, targeting the Engine Driver & the Tank.This morning,I was on board when our train ran over another explosive damaged rail.

“It took a miracle for us to escape,” he said.
