Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar may have revealed his intention to contest in the 2023 presidential election as he expressed confidence that he would win the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket during the opposition’s upcoming primaries.

Atiku, a 2019 presidential candidate met with his former principal and former president Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun state on Saturday.

He arrived at the Hilton Towers of Obasanjo at exactly 10:10am

Atiku deputised Obasanjo as Vice-President between 1999 and 2007 but the duo fell apart towards the twilight of their second term.

Addressing journalists shortly after the visit, Atiku claimed he has never failed to win PDP’s presidential ticket and he is confident he would win it this time.

“Have I ever failed to win the ticket? I’m confident,” Atiku said when asked if he has confidence in winning the PDP ticket this time around.

Though he is yet to formally make a declaration on the 2023 presidential election, Atiku is believed to among the top gladiators interested in landing the number seat in the country.
