The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the medical screening exercise of the Y2017 Hajj intending pilgrims at the Old Secretariat Central Mosque, GRA, Ikeja between 8 am to 2 pm daily to ensure that all intending pilgrims are vaccinated before the final departure to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Mr. Muftau Okoya who disclosed this recently, noted that intending pilgrims from Agege and the Board officials had already been informed to come for their vaccination from Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the Mosque.

He further explained that intending pilgrims from Alimosho, Lagos Island and Ikeja will be attended to by the medical team on Sunday, 16th July while those from Ajeromi, Ikorodu, Epe, Eti- Osa, Mainland and Somolu are slated for Monday, 17th July, 2017.

Other intending pilgrims from Apapa, Amuwo-Odofin, Oshodi – Isolo, Ifako- Ijaiye, Surulere, Badagry/ Ojo, Mushin and Kosofe are expected to be vaccinated on Tuesday, 18th July, 2017 at the same venue, he added.

Okoya, however, informed that the spillovers of all the local governments are booked for inoculation on Wednesday, 19th July, 2017, in order to make allowance for those who miss their dates.

He also warned that this arrangement should be adhered to by all Lagos State intending pilgrims, as anyone who misses this inoculation exercise will not be allowed to travel with the contingent.

The Executive Secretary implored the intending pilgrims to ensure that their hospital reports are a true reflection of their health status as this will help the State medical team to manage pilgrims’ health effectively and efficiently.

He enjoined all intending pilgrims to be fully prepared for the Hajj exercise as the inaugural flight is tentatively scheduled for the 30th of July, 2017.
