…Calls on INEC for Cancellation of Result
The Delta State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Jones Erue has declared that there was no election in the State on Saturday March 9, 2019 and has called on the National Chairman of the INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to cancel the purported result of the alleged election from the state.
Addressing a World Press Conference in Warri Monday, Mr. Erue averred that election did not take place anywhere in Delta State, saying that what happened across the entire state was ballot box snatching and thumb-printing galore allegedly by the PDP aided by security agents.
Delta State APC chairman, Prophet Jones Erue (middle), flanked on the right by Olorogun Adelabu Bodjor, APC chairman, Delta Central and his Delta South counterpart at the press conference.
He said: “We sat and we agreed that there was no election. We looked at what happened in every polling unit, every ward and we agreed that there was no election, let alone talking about whether it was free or fair.
“You can only talk about whether it is free or fair when there is election.
“There was no election. What happened was hijacking of ballot boxes galore and thumb printing galore.  And my people, the APC, were thoroughly brutalized and intimidated.”
Erue accused the security agents of colluding with INEC officials to perpetuate corruption, adding that both INEC and the security agents were nepotistic towards APC agents at the various polling units.
“The police were nepotistic, INEC were nepotistic. They colluded. But we can no longer contain the anger of our people. And that is why we call for this World Press Conference to tell the world that we can no longer tolerate this intimidation and we must cry out”, he said, adding that “since the police who are supposed to protect voters were now intimidating voters and our people were not allowed to vote.
The chairman therefore called on the INEC  chairman to cancel the purported result of an election that did not take place and call for a fresh election.
In his words: “We are asking the chairman of INEC to cancel the purported result of the so called election in Delta State and call for a fresh election.”
The chairman said that in the event that INEC refuses to cancel the election in Delta State, “we will approach the election tribunal”, adding that “I think we have enough evidence.”
In attendance at the press conference were the State chairman of the party, Prophet Jones Erue, the State Vice chairman for Delta Central, Olorogun Adelabu Bodjor, his counterpart for Delta South and several members of the party.
