Bayelsa State Governor, Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has commended the immediate past acting Director General of the Directorate of State Services (DSS), Mr Matthew Seiyefa, for what he described as an exemplary national service.

He said in recognition of his meritorious service to the nation, the state government will honour him at a grand reception soon.

Mr Seiyefa, who served as acting DG for a brief period after the sacking of Lawal Daura, was last week replaced by Yusuf Bichi, a retired director of the service.

Governor Dickson in a press release by his Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, said Seiyefa, who hails from Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state, is a quintessential Ijaw man and a great ambassador of Bayelsa.

He said the former DSS boss had a distinguished and meritorious 35 years of service to the nation for which the Ijaw nation is proud.

He said ‘It is unfortunate that the country was denied the full benefits of Mr. Seiyefa’ s continued exemplary services. We thank the Federal government however for the opportunity given to him to head the agency within these few days. Bayelsa State stands prepared to take optimum advantage of his availability and his experience to serve the state in several capacities. The state government is planning a formal reception in his honour”.
