A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has berated the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, for sharing lessons from the just concluded Ghana election.
George noted that it’s obvious that Yakubu’s performance is dropping compared to his previous achievements in office as INEC chairman.
Recall that the INEC chairman had, in the wake of the Ghana election over the weekend, praised the country’s political tradition, he also applauded the neighbouring country’s electoral system.
He said, “We are grateful that the election has gone very well. The process and its outcome so far have been commendable, and we continue to support our colleagues in Ghana’s Electoral Commission.” Yakubu was quoted as saying concerning the election.
But reacting to Yakubu’s comments about Ghana election, George expressed displeasure stressing that he was “ashamed”
“I am so ashamed of INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu. He was good before, now look at his performance, it is now a bad joke,” George declared.
