Chief George Moghalu, a political heavyweight and former National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who clinched the Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial ticket for the November 8, 2025, election in Anambra State, has promised to unveil a new dawn for the Anambra State if given the opportunity to lead.

Moghalu’s landslide victory in the LP primary on April 5, 2025, held in Awka, has reportedly energized his supporters and positioned him as a formidable challenger to incumbent Governor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

His campaign kicked off immediately, as he promised a governance rooted in unity, economic revitalization, and inclusiveness if elected as the next Governor of Anambra State.

Moghalu has said that his agenda focuses on key priorities: tackling unemployment through industrialization, improving infrastructure, and enhancing security.

Moghalu also emphasized grassroots engagement, vowing to “carry every village and town along in this journey of renewal.”

Many Anambra citizens, including a socio-political group, Anambra Refinement Group, have been pointing out the track record of Moghalu in public service and politics.

The Anambra Refinement Group, in a statement, said: “As the former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), he earned a reputation for competence and integrity, qualities he now pledges to bring to Anambra’s governance.

“With over two decades of unwavering public service, administrative excellence, and national influence, George Moghalu emerges not only as a candidate but as a defining symbol of transformative leadership for Anambra State.

“Chief George Moghalu’s political journey began at the dawn of the Fourth Republic in 1999, where he quickly distinguished himself as a visionary within the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).

“As a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he later served as National Auditor, advocating internal transparency and party reform.

“His appointment as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) in 2019 cemented his reputation as a result-oriented technocrat, transforming Nigeria’s inland maritime infrastructure, streamlining operations, and introducing private-sector partnerships to previously underutilized sectors.

“Moghalu’s Network: A Bridge to Anambra’s Future

Unlike many career politicians, Chief Moghalu reportedly operates at the confluence of governance, industry, and diplomacy. According to his supporters, he commands national and international network spanning government, business, traditional institutions, and the diaspora.

“His ability to build and sustain bridges—across ethnic, political, and ideological divides—positions him as Anambra’s foremost unifier and negotiator,” added one if his supporters.

A statement by his team details his agenda thus: “A Pedigree Built on Discipline, Education, and Service

“Rooted in the industrious soil of Nnewi, Moghalu’s pedigree reflects humility, strategic thinking, and high-impact service. Academically grounded and currently pursuing legal studies and a PhD, his intellectual rigour matches his political instincts—a rare fusion necessary for leading a 21st-century state.

“Economic Blueprint: A Policy Arsenal for Prosperity

“Chief Moghalu’s vision for Anambra’s economic rebirth is anchored on five strategic pillars:
1. MSME Renaissance – Launching state-backed access-to-credit programs for youth, women, and creative entrepreneurs
2. Agro-Industrial Acceleration – Establishing processing hubs for cassava, rice, poultry, and palm produce, with export incentives
3. Port & Logistics Corridor – Leveraging his NIWA experience to convert Onitsha into a world-class trade gateway
4. Tourism & Culture Economy – Reviving heritage cities and supporting creative industries with investment-ready policies
5. Digital Skills & Employment – Establishing coding academies and incubation labs across all three senatorial zones
“The Case for Moghalu: Why Anambra Must Choose the Right
In an electoral season flooded with rhetoric and recycled ambitions, George Moghalu is the singular candidate with:
– A verifiable record of service delivery
– A respected national profile
– An inclusive, multi-sectoral development plan
– Deep connections across federal agencies and donor institutions
– An untainted reputation, trusted by the grassroots and elites alike
“Publicity, Strategy, and The Future Narrative
To deliver his vision with the precision it deserves, Chief Moghalu needs a media strategy that matches his governance ambition. This is not politics as usual. This is a campaign for posterity. We stand ready to:
– Craft and execute a cross-platform narrative architecture
– Drive TV, radio, street, digital, and diaspora engagement
– Launch reputation defence, policy storytelling, and documentary-style campaign media
– Document his legacy and leadership with global PR standards.

“Final Word: A New Dawn Begins
Chief Dr George Moghalu is not just a candidate. He is a bridge, a builder, and the dawn of a new beginning for Anambra. He doesn’t need to prove he can lead—his record has already written that chapter.”
