Abdulazeez Ganduje, the estranged and the eldest son of the embattled national chairman of All Progressives Congress,(APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, visited the chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhuyi Rimingado, in his office.

The visit comes amidst the decision of the Kano State government to drag Ganduje, his wife, son, and five others to court over alleged corruption and misappropriation of public funds.

A source knowledgeable about the meeting said Abdulazeez reportedly commended the Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, for filing a lawsuit against Ganduje.

He was reported to have expressed his endorsement of the charges brought against his father, mother, and brother by the commission.

“Abdulazeez is fully in support of these charges filed against his parents. He has also complained to the commission chairman that his name was unlawfully removed as a director of one of the companies facing trial. He bitterly lamented how he was removed without his consent,” the source told the members of the press.

Abdulazeez, during the meeting also reportedly expressed concern to the commission’s chairman about his unjust removal as a director of one of the companies undergoing trial, expressing his distress over being ousted without his consent.

The New Diplomat reports that Abdulazeez had been reportedly at loggerheads with his father, mom, and other family members.

It would be recalled that in September 2021, Abdulazeez petitioned his mother, Hafsat Ganduje, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged corruption.

Abdulazeez reported his mother to the anti-graft agency for corruptly using family power and status for personal enrichment.

Abdulazeez in his petition had stated that he was approached by a property developer to help facilitate the acquisition of some plots of land in Kano with hundreds of thousands of US dollars and at least 35 million naira as a “facilitation commission”.

He was said to have paid the money to his mother. “But three months later, the property developer discovered that the plots of land he wanted and had paid for had been allocated to other buyers. He then requested to be refunded,” Abdulazeez said in the petition.

The development has continued to generate mixed reactions among social media users.
