The All Progressives Congress, Cross River State Chapter has hailed the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Gambari as the new Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari by calling him a stabilizer whose appointment will henceforth stabilize the polity and reposition Nigeria as the giant of the African continent.

This was contained in a statement issued by Sir John Ochala, the state’s party chairman in his goodwill message.

According to Ochala, Gambari’s appointment will play a huge role in the country’s path to stability which has been a cluster of ups and downs in recent times.

“Our nation’s path to stability in the past few months has been a cluster of ups and downs especially with developments bothering on security and so on, which may have produced an uncertain vision for the leadership.

“However, with the recent appointment of Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, an accomplished Diplomat, Technocrat, Scholar, an Avatar of peace and goodwill, former Under Secretary of the United Nations, as the Chief of Staff to the President, one can heave a sigh of relief that Mr. President’s steering of the ship of state will henceforth stabilize the polity and reposition Nigeria as the giant of the African continent.

“Prof. Gambari has a rich history of such demeanor and disposition as a stabilizer. We recall your role at the United Nations which helped to create an enabling environment for Africa to have a strong voice as a critical component of the world body.

“We congratulate you on this well-deserved appointment as the President’s Chief of Staff and also appreciate Mr. President for making a good choice” Ochala said.

The party further expressed their delight in the appointment while urging him to bring his wealth of experience to bear.

“Our great party rejoices with you in the hope that you will bring your wealth of experience to bear in your new office to help stabilize and move the nation steadily towards greatness.

“It is of interest too to mention here that with your position as the ‘Engine Room’ of the Presidency, the administration of our great country will accelerate towards the path of international reckoning in view of the goodwill that is expected to come by the instrumentality of your appointment.

“On this note, we reiterate our support and loyalty to the administration, to Mr. President, and to the National Leadership of our party to move the nation to the next level. We pray God in His infinite mercy, to grant you the grace that is the pivot for the much-anticipated growth” Ochala added.
